Peter Howarth. Peter Howarth (born 3 May 1960) is an English musician, who is the lead singer of the English band The Hollies. He also has a career as solo artist and used to be a backing singer. In 2014 he released the CD album Evermore featuring his acoustic version of "He Ain't Heavy - He's My Brother".

On 31 March 1984, Howarth died in Llandudno General Hospital from kidney failure and pneumonia, aged 88, with his wife and son at his bedside. He was cremated six days later at a private funeral in Colwyn Bay , conducted by the vicar of Llanrhos , the Rev David Jenkins.

Wayne's only recording with the band was "How Do I Survive", which was released on the 2003 compilation album Greatest Hits, before he died on 31 August 2004 of oesophageal cancer. According to the band's official website, "It was Carl's wish for The Hollies Autumn Tour to go ahead"; accordingly, Peter Howarth took his place.
I travelled extensively as a musician and singer both in the UK and abroad exploring a wide. range of musical styles. Whilst playing guitar in ‘Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ I worked with an old school chum Gordy Marshall. We went on to form the band Sahara. Our first album ‘Observation’ was released in 1986.
