Providence Park, then known as Civic Stadium, was home to many generations of high-octane offense from the Portland State Vikings, including from 1975 to 1980 when Mouse Davis, the "godfather" of the run and shoot offense and Portland State Football Hall of Famer, was the head coach of PSU.
Built by the Multnomah Athletic Club in 1926 and acquired by the City in 1966, Providence Park Stadium is known today as home to the Portland Thorns and Portland Timbers.
