Having composed the soundtracks to some of the largest action games of the last decade, her credits include multiple installments of the Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed franchises – including the recently-released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Consistently exposed to music as she grew, Schachner initially began playing the piano at the age of five, with the violin following at the age of seven. Later, she, her sister and her father played in a family band, which dabbled in various genres throughout the years, from folk and bluegrass to old blues and classic rock. Both performing and writing music, Schachner eventually decided to focus on the latter, studying film scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
After graduating from Berklee, Schachner moved to Los Angeles, where she managed to find work as a TV/trailer composer's assistant. A "terrible personal assistant" by her own admission, she was nonetheless kept on board, transferring to a Music Production role, which she kept for a year before going freelance.
In 2009, Schachner became acquainted with Brian Tyler, who gave her the opportunity to work on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, one of his first video game endeavors. From then on, the two would frequently collaborate on soundtracks, such as those of Need for Speed: The Run, Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. In their collaborations, Schachner was usually responsible for composing additional music or arranging the musical score.
Schachner was later hired again by Ubisoft to serve as one of the three main composers for Assassin's Creed: Unity. While co-composer Chris Tilton focused on the singleplayer campaign, she mainly scored the tracks for the systemic combat and co-op aspects of the game. Schachner returned to the franchise once again for Assassin's Creed: Origins, being the soundtrack's main composer.
