Murray was the first female senator from the state, and she later became the first woman to serve as president pro tempore of the Senate (2023– ).
She is currently Chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. Patty was a leader in Congress in the fight against COVID-19 and works daily for the relief families, workers, and local small businesses need to keep people safe and healthy.
