- When You Are on the Right Path, God Will Allow Tests, Trials, and Even Temptations That Benefit You. God’s way is the best way, but God’s way is not always the easiest way.
- When You Are on the Right Path, You Will Not Be Perfect But You Will Be Protected By God. Even when you are on the right path and doing exactly what God wants you to do in life, your sin nature will still be within you.
- When You Are on the Right Path, You Will Attract Likeminded Saints and Repel People Who Love Their Sin. Being a Christian is both amazingly lonely while also providing amazing avenues to connect with other brothers and sisters in Christ.
- You Will Know You Are on the Right Path When The Holy Spirit in You Puts Your Conscience at Peace Because Your Life Is in Alignment with God’s Prescribed Will.
- Know Who You Are. Jesus Christ learned as He grew and came to know who He was (see Luke 2:49). With confidence in His identity, He could declare that He was the Messiah whom the prophets had spoken of (see Joseph Smith Translation, Matthew 4:18 [in Matthew 4:19, footnote a]; John 4:25–26).
- Seek to Know Heavenly Father’s Will. Jesus Christ sought to know His Father’s will. After His baptism, He “was led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be with God.”
- Align Your Will with Heavenly Father’s Will. Jesus Christ aligned His will with His Father’s will (see John 6:38). Aligning our will with God’s is another cairn Jesus left to mark the path.
- Make and Keep Covenants with God. Jesus Christ said to His disciples, “Follow me” (Matthew 4:19). We do so by exercising faith in Him, repenting, being baptized in His name, and receiving the Holy Ghost.
