Feb 6, 2020 · The Warner Archive Collection has finally begun to release those MGM shorts on Blu-ray with Tex Avery Screwball Classics: Volume 1, and it was well worth the wait. Among the offerings on this volume are the first appearances of Droopy, Screwy Squirrel, Butch/Spike (the bulldog), George and Junior, and other of the director’s best loved creations.
Lot of three DVD sets of restored animated shorts, all that have been released to DVD. In total, 59 shorts plus bonus features on three discs, more than seven hours.

Expect a pretty good roster of animated shorts via Tex Avery Screwball Classics Volume 1. Although I think Avery did better work with the Warner Bros. stable of characters, this package still boasts a lot of laughs and creativity. The Blu-ray brings acceptable picture, problematic audio and no bonus materials.
