Feb 22, 2022 · The iconic Old North Columbus restaurant and dive bar the Blue Danube, closed in 2018, is not for sale, according to its owner. A real estate agent said the property is not listed for sale and a mural on the building has been painted over.

However you remember it, there’s no denying that this Columbus landmark is sorely missed since closing in June of 2018.
Jun 6, 2018 · John Frak founded The Blue Danube in 1940, naming it after Johann Strauss II's famous classical piece and/or the river that runs through his native Hungary. The restaurant began as a fine dining establishment, serving filet mignon and caviar as well as traditional Hungarian fare such as goulash.

May 7, 2018 · The building, located at 2439 N. High St, will be closed for renovation and although it’s possible the restaurant could reopen with a new owner, no plans to do so have been confirmed. In a statement on their Facebook page, the restaurant staff said their goodbyes to customers.
