There are several good hiking areas with trails such as the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in Scottsdale and the Maricopa County Park north of Fountain Hills.
With outdoor cafés, shops, lush gardens, water landscapes and exciting up-close animal encounters like Stingray Bay, your visit will be memorable for the entire family. Other not to be missed activities include the Safari Cruiser and Endangered Species Carousel.

- Scott E. 1 contribution. Amazing hike. Parking is a challenge. I had a friend drop me off on the Cholla side and pick me up on the Echo side later. I would definitely start on the Cholla side as it is a little less challenging than going up Echo but still very challenging with steep climbs and rock climbing in parts.
