There are several good hiking areas with trails such as the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in Scottsdale and the Maricopa County Park north of Fountain Hills.

  3. With outdoor cafés, shops, lush gardens, water landscapes and exciting up-close animal encounters like Stingray Bay, your visit will be memorable for the entire family. Other not to be missed activities include the Safari Cruiser and Endangered Species Carousel.

    • Dean92802. Anaheim, CA97 contributions. A beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Came here to see lots of cacti and succulents and was not disappointed. This place is broken up into different sections but all are linked by common paths.
    • Gerald V. 3 contributions. Can't Get Enough. I have been telling everyone I know about this museum. The collection of instruments is astounding. The technology used to trigger the videos when you approach the displays is amazing.
    • V R. Sharpsburg, GA5 contributions. Beautiful museum. Beautiful, modern museum with history and art of the local Native American people. We learned so much and enjoyed the cafe and courtyards.
    • Scott E. 1 contribution. Amazing hike. Parking is a challenge. I had a friend drop me off on the Cholla side and pick me up on the Echo side later. I would definitely start on the Cholla side as it is a little less challenging than going up Echo but still very challenging with steep climbs and rock climbing in parts.
