It is located under Vermont Avenue at its intersection with Santa Monica Boulevard, after which the station is named, in the East Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles. Vermont/Santa Monica station is an underground rapid transit station on the B Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system.
The B Line (formerly the Red Line from 1993–2020) is a fully underground 14.7 mi (23.7 km) [1] rapid transit line operating in Los Angeles, running between North Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles. It is one of six lines in the Los Angeles Metro Rail system, operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The C Line (formerly the Green Line from 1995 to 2020) is a 19.3-mile (31.1 km) [3] light rail line running between Redondo Beach and Norwalk within Los Angeles County, California. It is one of six lines forming the Los Angeles Metro Rail system and opened on August 12, 1995. [4]

Feb 28, 2020 · Designed by architect Ellerbe Becket and artist Robert Millar, the Vermont/Santa Monica station is an urban landscape that juxtaposes daytime natural and nighttime artificial light. Different textures were incorporated into the design, with questions of existence etched in the concrete walls of the station.
