  4. Jun 16, 2012 · The door opens OK and the friction between the plunger and hole it sits in seems to be enough to keep it from coming out while driving (with the large spring removed). There is another spring somewhere inside the mechanism that is keeping it operational. I have not taken he entire handle out if the door and really don't want too.
