Oct 2, 2020 · The Bathhouse Row you see today consists of eight bathhouse buildings that were constructed between the years of 1892 and 1923. This area along with the Grand Promenade was designated as a National Historic Landmark District in 1987.
Bathhouse row is on the east side of Main Street in downtown Hot Springs. There are several of the grand old buildings still standing, only 2 of them are functioning bathhouses - Quapaw and Buckstaff. The Fordyce bathhouse has been transformed into a museum showcasing what it was like during the era when they were all fully operating bathhouses.

On Bathhouse Row, the eight grand bathhouses that had been thriving since their construction in the first three decades of the century suffered from the decline. The elegant Fordyce Bathhouse was the first to close, in 1962, followed by the Maurice, the Ozark, and the Hale in the 1970s.
Named a National Historic Landmark in 1987, consists of eight bathhouses built between 1911 and 1923; the Fordyce serves as the national park visitor center and museum of the bathing industry; the Buckstaff has operated continuously since 1912. The Quapaw has been renovated into a modern day spa.
