Mar 24, 2021 · The Red Raider tradition dates back to 1947 and the former Belmont High School. When South Point opened in 1969 it continued with the name and logo, and students have used the Red Raider theme in graphics, face paint, battle cries and clothing over the years.
South Point High School was completed on South Point Road in 1964 as Belmont High School, replacing a building on North Central Avenue which became Belmont Middle School, and adopted its present name in 1969 after it merged with Cramerton High School and Reid High School.
Belmont Middle is committed to providing a safe environment that improves learning, academic achievement, and the development of students' strengths and talents.
