Located at 8th and F streets NW, the Portrait Gallery is inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center, which also serves as the space for the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Admission is free, and the museum is open from 11:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. seven days a week.

In an effort to standardize security throughout the Smithsonian Institution and ensure the safety of visitors, the artworks and objects within the National Portrait Gallery, visitors will experience new security measures. All visitors will be required to pass through screening at the museum's G Street and F Street entrances.
