Our 550-acre Safari Drive is home to many animals from around the world. From Bactrian Camels and White Rhino to Baboons and African Lions, you can see them all as you drive around the grounds. The route is split into different continental zones where you’ll drive through many habitats and see our collection of animals along the way.
Jan 7, 2016 · Knowsley Safari Park is home to many species of animals from all around the world. The Safari Drive lets you observe the animals within relatively close proximity. Tracks run right through the large enclosures and animals have heaps of well-maintained living space.
This allowed more animals to be added to the collection on display along the now 5-mile- (8 km) long route, including herds of camels, buffalo and white rhino as well as a group of tigers.A few modifications to the original design have had to be made for safety and display reasons.

What is Knowsley Safari?
Initially the road through the park was 3.5 miles (5.6 km), with visitors driving past lions, cheetahs, monkeys, giraffes, zebra, elephants and various antelope. Due to the popularity of this route, an additional 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of road was added in 1973, and camels, buffalo, white rhino, and tigers were added to the park.
As well as the exotic animals who make Knowsley their home, at the park you can also see an array of native British wildlife. Ten species of waterfowl nest around the park’s Mizzy Lake; kestrels and buzzards can be spotted in the woodland and with patience brown hares, stoats, weasels and squirrels can also be spotted.
