MIT has its own application, available online from mid-August through January 4. The application fee is $75. If paying the fee presents a hardship for applicants, fee waivers are available upon request. The application deadline for Early Action is November 1, and January 4 for Regular Action.
Apply. First-year applicants. Early vs Regular. MIT has two application cycles: Early Action (EA) and Regular Action (RA). What’s the difference? Only the dates of the deadlines! It is fine to apply during either cycle. We do not have a preference, and there is no strategic benefit to applying in one vs the other.
When to apply. Most U.S. students apply to MIT at the beginning of their final year of high school, and international applicants should do the same. Only accepted students are required to send final grades, and we understand that they will not be available until the summer months. Most applicants are 17–19 years of age.
