Altitude Film Sales announced at the Berlin International Film Festival that it had acquired the worldwide rights to the film, and would release it within the UK.
Mary and the Witch's Flower is an adaptation of British writer Mary Stewart's 1971 children's book The Little Broomstick. It was first published in 1975 in Japan and re-released with a new translation by Kadokawa in 2017 to accompany the film's release.
