University Stadium is an outdoor football stadium located on the south campus of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. It has been serving as a venue for football games since its opening in 1960 and can accommodate over 38,000 spectators.
University Stadium is the home to the New Mexico Lobos and the annual New Mexico Bowl. Prior to moving into University Stadium, the Lobos played at Zimmerman Field. This stadium was beginning to show its age and the football team needed a new stadium to play at.
