Less a game and more a collection of strange instruments, Electroplanktonwas a sign of things to come for DS in terms of aesthetic and gameplay innovations. Rather than work towards a specific goal, players used the touch interface to manipulate the various creatures and items in order to create new rhythms and melodies out of an endless array of p...

What started in Japan as Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, a wildly inventive and thoroughly Japanese touch based rhythm game eventually came to the rest of the world as Elite Beat Agents, an equally inventive title that did away with much of the esoteric Japanese culture and replaced it with good ole western music and style without sacrificing any of the zan...

This once massive franchise might have burned itself out far too quickly, as many rockers often do, but its foray onto DS was a surprising success. Rather than rely on straight-up touch controls, Activision developed the Guitar Grip, a four fretted peripheral that plugged into the DS’s GBA slot and allowed for the familiar and addictive gameplay fr...

At first glance,Rhythm Heaven looks like a strange combination between the touch based gameplay of Elite Beat Agents and the random insanity of WarioWare, and while that is part of it, the complete package is much more. Like Elite Beat Agents, the point is to follow along to the music with the proper pokes and flicks on the touch screen, but Rhythm...

  2. 1 - Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story As if any game in this series could go wrong with the soundtracks, the one that takes the cake for me is the final boss fight. Mario & Luigi - Bowser's Inside Story OST: Fawful's Theme. 1 - Not to mention the equally beautiful and jazzy Fawful's Theme.

  3. The best way i can describe this theme is beautiful. I prefer this over the end credits song of DS1. Such a soothing voice! 3. Majula theme (DS2) This theme stands out from almost every other theme on this list. Majula is my favourite hub area in souls. It makes you feel relaxed and unnerved at the same time.

    • Elite Beat Agents. Release Data: iNiS/Nintendo, 2006. Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music. This is one of the quirkiest and wackiest games available on the DS.
    • Rhythm Heaven. Release Data: Nintendo, 2009. Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music. Rhythm Heaven is the epitome of simple game design, yet it never feels half-hearted in any regard.
    • Zubo. Release Data: EA Bright Light/Electronic Arts, 2009. Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music. Zubo does a clever job of infusing rhythmic combat into otherwise standard RPG design, making this title stand out from the crowd.
    • Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits. Release Data: Activision, 2009. Genre: Action » Rhythm » Music. In the end, Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits is a great way to bring Guitar Hero on the road, but its Guitar Grip peripheral does cause numbness of the fingers after just a few songs.
  4. 42nd: Shoot-Em-Up. I say this is where games get decent. It's decently exciting, but that's about it 41st: Shoot-Em-Up 2. Same as first but the 'fuck you' in the middle makes it more entertaining 40th: The Dazzles. A lack of a late cue brings this down by a large margin. The music is the best part 39th: The Dazzles 2.

  5. The game features more than fifteen licensed songs with a level dedicated to each song. Four level difficulty are available in the game, two of which have to be unlocked through performing well. With addictive gameplay, and a well-written story, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan is the best game to play and enjoy.
