Hooking Up Is Hard is the 12th episode of Season 1 on FOX comedy The Mindy Project.
Mindy's attempted one-night stand with Brendan hits a snag when his brother and Morgan drop by; and Danny goes on a date with Eye Patch.
Mindy makes it her mission to have a causal hookup. She asks her co-workers for advice and Jeremy tells her that the person that she picks for her hookup has to be someone she can neither see a future with nor someone she respects. He tells her that this cannot be a repeat of what happened between them because she "was in love with [Jeremy]". Mindy thinks the perfect guy would be Draco Malfoy. Jeremy reminds her it can't be someone fictitious. After stepping into the elevator with Brendan Deslaurier Mindy decides that he would be a perfect guy to hook up with. Brendan agrees to Mindy's proposition in the elevator and they agree to 'hang out' the next night at Brendan's apartment.
Before heading over to Brendan's apartment Mindy makes a video on her laptop saying that if she gets murdered she wants Lifetime to make a movie with either Freida Pinto or 'a young Halle Berry' playing Mindy. The Night gets uncomfortable quickly when in an attempt to snoop through Brendan's medicine cabinet Mindy accidentally gets trapped in his high tech shower. Mindy gets a 'Hungarian' shower while Brendan is on the bed playing the guitar and singing a Dixie Chicks song. After that Mindy tries her friends, Alex and Gwen's, advice and attempts to undress Brendan only to knock out his contact and then the night is completely ruined when Duncan and Morgan show up.
