Mar 1, 2023 · Specifically, the project aims to increase the percentage of women’s biographies on Wikipedia, as well as other articles about women’s representation, including women’s works and women’s issues. Nearly eight years later, Women in Red has helped tremendously in closing the gender gap.
This session will examine efforts of the past year to increase the representation of women in Wikimedia projects, through coordinated campaigns, both professional and grassroots. Topics include WikiProject Women in Red and formal Wikimedian in Residence projects such as the Smithsonian American Womens History Initiative.
