Nov 8, 2022 · Biography. Kildee was born in Flint, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan-Flint, but dropped out before getting his degree. He later returned to college and earned his B.S. in 2007. His first elected office was as the Genesee County Commissioner and then the county treasurer.
Previously, Congressman Dan Kildee served as the Genesee County Treasurer, on the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, and on the Flint Board of Education. Additionally, he worked for eight years at the Whaley Children’s Center, a residential treatment facility in Flint for children who have experienced trauma and abuse.
Dan Kildee is a U.S. representative from Flint serving Michigan’s 8th congressional district. He currently serves on the Ways and Means Committee and the Budget Committee. He also co-chairs the bipartisan Congressional PFAS Task Force to more urgently clean up toxic PFAS chemicals.
