Overview Gallery Synopsis Relationships Shota Aizawa (相 (あい) 澤 (ざわ) 消 (しょう) 太 (た) , Aizawa Shōta?), also known as the Erasure Hero: Eraser Head (イレイザー・ヘッド, Ireizā Heddo?), is a Pro Hero and the homeroom teacher of U.A. High School's Class 1-A. Shota is a slender and tall, pale-skinned man with...
Aizawa's hero name isn't Eraserhead because he's a big David Lynch fan. He got that name because his Quirk--MHA's term for superpowers--is named "Erasure." It allows him to temporarily nullify the Quirk of anyone around him (except people who've been physically mutated by their Quirks, like A-1 student Shoji "Tentacole" Mezo.
- A Loss. Most recently it was revealed that Aizawa's life has not been as perfect as we might have hoped. He too has felt a great loss, with his best friend falling early in their hero days.
- Secondary Weapon. You've surely noticed the cloth that Aizawa always wears around his neck when in his hero costume. You've also likely noticed how he uses it as a form of combat since his quirk isn't actually a combative one.
- Basic Equipment. Some heroes have the tendency to carry extra supplies around whenever they're on a mission. Eraserhead is one of those very heroes. One of those items should be obvious since we just talked about it a bit.
- Dry Eye. Most quirks have some sort of negative side effect, even if they aren't immediately obvious. Aizawa's side effects became much worse after his injury.
- "Okay. It took eight seconds before you were quiet. Time is limited. You kids are not rational enough." Before anything else, Shota Aizawa is a teacher. Whether this makes sense to you or not, he does well to embody strict, no-nonsense, nails-to-a-chalkboard teaching 101.
- "Why is everyone around me so noisy?" This list just wouldn't encapsulate Aizawa's inner Garfield without jotting down one of his pre-coffee one-liners.
- "They've been exposed to the outside world... Each has grown from that experience and forgotten how to hesitate." This quote is equal parts inspiring and haunting.
- "If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events." Did anyone else know that Shota Aizawa was a party pooper? With lines like this, Aizawa certainly doesn't make it easy to forget.
