    Where There's Smoke is the sixteenth episode of Season 5  of Good Times and the 101st episode overall. Written by Bruce Kalish and Philip John Taylor, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV, first airing on January 25, 1978.

    The mystery of the burned sofa cushion is generating various stories. But Penny seems to be the only one who knows what really happened.

    Willona visits the Evans while Florida is out, and she smells smoke. The couch cushion is almost thoroughly burnt. J.J, Michael, and Thelma each have different stories as to how the couch caught fire.

    It's "Rashomon" time when the couch in the Evans living room catches fire. Under the baleful glare of Willona (Ja'net DuBois), each of the Evans kids -- J.J.
