In 1993, Michelle and her mother moved to Gloversville from New York City. In 2003, Michelle won a talent show at Lexington and expressed her interest in starting a band, which led to the creation of Flame. Flame gives concerts at national and statewide conventions, corporate conferences, civic events, schools, dances and private parties. Their repertoire includes more than 100 classic rock, pop, country and blues songs from the past 50 years, as well as some original tracks.

May 15, 2020 · GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) –Flame is a group of musicians who all happen to have a disability. The Lexington chapter of The Arc started the band after Lead Singer and Guitarist, Michelle King, won a talent show using her gift of voice. Something doctors said King would never develop.
From Gloversville, Michelle is the lead vocalist and guitar player with Flame, a band formed at Lexington, a Chapter of the ARC New York, located in Johnstown. Michelle is a person with autism, but she has not let that stop her from achieving and exceeding her musical goals.
