Plot. In 2002, Bolivian politician Pedro Castillo hires an American political consulting firm (based on James Carville 's Greenberg Carville Shrum firm) to help him win the 2002 Bolivian presidential election. The firm brings in "Calamity" Jane Bodine to manage Castillo's fledging campaign.
Washed-up political strategist Jane Bodine is hired by a political consultancy to help their client, Senator Castillo, win the Bolivian general election. Bodine used to be the best in the game, but an unfortunate series of events during a campaign destroyed her reputation and confidence.
