  1. Jan 21, 2004 · I am shopping for a 42" plasma. I am willing to spend the $5000 for a HDTV but not if EDTV is is "just as good" or has little noticeable difference and costs $1000-2000 less. I'm wondering, how people have liked their EDTV plasmas?

  2. Feb 8, 2005 · The plasma EDTV will only display 480p resolution. The flat screen. CRT HDTV will do 1080i. So the CRT will have better resolution. As. for "better picturE" it all depends on whether you care about not. getting true HDTV with the plasma. Personally, I don't know why anyone would buy an outrageously.

  3. Nov 25, 2004 · At 12 feet the difference is slight. The EDTV is best value going. 42" HD display is poor value. If you must have HD display, go with 50" HDTV. Better idea, if you have some room, buy 42" EDTV and a front projector and screen. This equals cost of 50" HD plasma ($5,000) and will give you much more viewing options.

  4. Jan 22, 2005 · Think of it in terms of the number of horizontal lines used to make the picture and how they are arranged. EDTV can show 480 lines in a non-interlaced (i.e. progressive) form. This is the full resolution of standard definition television, DVD, etc. HDTV can show 1080 interlaced or 720 non-interlaced lines.
