The Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The authority was founded in Abu Dhabi in 1983 with support of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Mar 9, 2022 · Hamdan bin Zayed has chaired Emirates Red Crescent’s first board meeting in 2022 and praised the ERC for promoting the UAE’s humanitarian and developmental approach through initiatives to mitigate the effects of crises and disasters around the world.
The UAE Red Crescent is the UAE’s main relief and aid agency. Besides humanitarian assistance, it implements developmental and reconstruction projects. The areas covered by these projects are: Palestinian territories, Yemen, Pakistan, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Maldives.
