Jun 17, 2021 · WASHINGTON, JUNE 17, 2021 – More than 300,000 rural residents are set to directly benefit from fresh rounds of funding for the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) which is designed to increase rural incomes and enhance farm and fishery productivity in the targeted areas in the country.
More than half of the Philippines’ 100 million people live in rural areas, and more than a third of them are poor. Agriculture is the primary source of income for poor rural people, and the only source for many of the poorest households.
