A former professional baseball player, along with his preteen daughter, moves into New York advertising executive Angela Bower's house to be both a housekeeper and a father figure to her young son. Tony 's laid-back personality contrasts with Angela's type-A behavior.

In town for a reunion, Angela's sorority sister (Nancy Stafford), who's used to taking everything of Angela's, sets her sights on Tony.
Tony and Mona are eager to be in the home section. Mona moves into the house temporarily. That and Sam's nightmare lead to cascade of children crawling into beds with adults, who later sneak into the kids' rooms. By morning, Tony and Angela unexpectedly wake up besides each-other.
Who's the Boss? When his career is cut short by injuries, an ex-Major League baseball player and single dad goes to work as a live-in housekeeper for a high-powered advertising executive and single mom.
