   How is the Angel's Rest Trail?

   • The trail is very well kept and easy to navigate. There are stone steps in some sections, but it’s mostly dirt. Some of it was a little slippery from loose rocks. Coming down we took a lot more care to have solid footing. The vast majority of the trail was shaded. We only went to Angel’s Rest and not the second view area.

Most thru-hikers encounter Angel’s Rest as part of a northbound hike, so it’s all downhill. It’s mostly day hikers that get to take on such an ascent.
