Cathedral Canyon of Lower Rock Creek is one of the wildest and most scenic destinations in the Ozarks. After a one mile trail through the forest, the hike follows the stream bed of Lower Rock Creek, with rock hopping and some scrambling, and the occasional boot worn track paralleling the stream.

Try this 5.4-mile out-and-back trail near Fredericktown, Missouri. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a popular trail for backpacking, camping, and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.
