The W. Howard Frankland Bridge is the central fixed-link bridge spanning Old Tampa Bay from St. Petersburg, Florida to Tampa, Florida. It is one of three bridges connecting Hillsborough County and Pinellas County; the others being Gandy Bridge and Courtney Campbell Causeway.

The Courtney Campbell Trail runs for 9.5 miles along the entire south side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway (Gulf-to-Bay Blvd., SR 60) across Old Tampa Bay. Featuring scenic water views, the trail is entirely off the road, with wide medians, barriers and including bike bridges that separate it from the roadway.
The Courtney Campbell Trail provides pedestrian and bicycle access along the southern side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway for nearly 11 miles, linking two communities, Tampa and Clearwater, and two counties, Hillsborough and Pinellas, in western Florida.
