Welcome to the Building Division. We work to ensure the safety of buildings on private property as we apply the state of California's current building codes and laws to our review and inspection of projects. We aim to provide excellent customer service as we undertake this work.
You can download a building permit for 56 types of simple projects at SJPermits.org. These are projects that either don't need plans OR the plans are reviewed at the time of inspection, such as done for some solar installations and earthquake retrofits.
