Feb 27, 2004 · Doesn't hold a candle to Broken Lizards magnum opus: Super Troopers, but still an entertaining movie. Club Dread leans real damn hard into the "comedy" side of this horror/comedy, but that was probably the better way to play Broken Lizards particular sensibilities. Final rating:★★★ - I liked it. Would personally recommend you give it a go.

Filmed in Mexico but allegedly set on "Coconut Pete's Pleasure Island" off the coast of Costa Rica, it's a head-on smashup between spring weekend and a machete-swinging slasher.

Film. Create New. Club Dread is a 2004 comedy horror film written by Broken Lizard, best known for Super Troopers and Beerfest. Lars, a big fan of washed-up singer Coconut Pete, arrives on his private party island to start his new job. His timing couldn't be worse, however, as there is a killer among the island's various crackpot employees.
Putman is next to be killed. During a party in the nightclub, Jenny and Lars discover Dave and Putman's bodies. The guests see the corpses and a panic ensues. Penelope, Juan, Lars and Jenny find Sam's apparently lifeless body in a mud bath. While they consider their next move, Sam leaps from the bath with a machete and grabs Lars.
