Crime of the Century was the group’s commercial breakthrough in the West, reaching the Top Five in the U.S. and did especially well in Canada, where reached #1 and stayed on the charts for over two years, while selling over a million copies in that country.
Crime of the Century: A great finale and title song that ends with a bang. It hits hard with vocals at the beginning and continues with some great guitar. It has that great jazzy sax at the end and is amazing. An amazing 3rd place. I absolutely loved this album and can't wait to listen to more supertramp.
Feb 15, 2007 · Crime Of The Century is excellent musically, with a middle instrumental symphonic section on par with the one we can find in Fool's Overture or A Soapbox Opera. This is my favorite song of this album and its words (especially by now in 2009) sound to me like a prophecy so clear to see.

54. Universal Music will reissue 40th anniversary editions of Supertramp ‘s 1974 album Crime of the Century in December, including a 3LP vinyl box set. The original album is remastered across all formats and the two-CD deluxe edition and 3LP vinyl box adds a previously unreleased concert from London’s Hammersmith Odeon in March 1975.
