Dec 19, 2023 · Beginning Sunday, January 7, the Municipal Parking Department will enforce safety-related parking violations citywide Sundays. These violations include but are not limited to parking in front of fire hydrants, bus stops, no parking zones, and no standing zones. Free parking in metered spots Sundays and holidays will continue.
The Municipal Parking Department is responsible for the enforcement of the City of Detroit Parking Ordinances and provides safe and economical on and off-street parking.
The Parking Violations Bureau (PVB) is happy to make formal payment plans for citizens. You may also inquire about entering into a possible settlement offer at the Municipal Parking Department. Please note that payment plans must be entered and active prior to the immobilization and / or impoundment of your vehicle.

Jan 12, 2022 · Laura Herberg/WDET. The City of Detroit switched to a new parking app the last week of December. The old ParkDetroit app only allowed drivers to pay for metered parking spaces. The new app allows users to pay for parking in both the city’s spaces and some private parking garages and lots.
