Feb 11, 2022 · Immediately south of Chicago’s city limits, Dolton is a mostly residential suburban village bounded to the north by the Little Calumet River. The name comes from one George Dolton, who settled in the area in 1835 and whose son became the village’s first postmaster in 1866.
The 8-year former village trustee Tiffany A. Henyard became the Village of Dolton’s first and youngest woman mayor in the village’s 130-year history. As a life-long resident of Dolton, Mayor Henyard is passionate about Dolton and continues to live in the community where she grew up.
