The movie won four Academy Awards, including that for best picture, as well as three Golden Globe Awards, including that for best comedy or musical.
Driving Miss Daisy received the most nominations with nine total; Born on the Fourth of July came in second with eight. Winners were announced during the awards ceremony on March 26, 1990. Driving Miss Daisy became the third film to win Best Picture without a Best Director nomination.
