The nonpathogenic intestinal amebae include several Entamoeba species ( E. coli, E. hartmanni, and E. polecki ), Endolimax nana, and Iodamoeba buetschlii ( =I. bütschlii). Entamoeba species in the E. histolytica species complex are discussed under Amebiasis.

Nov 4, 2015 · In this review, we seek to provide an overview of the work that has been performed on the parasite since the genus Endolimax was described by Kuenen and Swellengrebel in 1917 and suggest activities that may pave the way for a better understanding of E. nana in a clinical and public health context.
Newer comprehensive treatment regimen recommendations aimed at empiric treatment of Strongyloides stercoralis and Schistosoma spp. may broaden the overseas treatment and will empirically treat most cestode, nematode, and trematode parasites.
Size: 6 to 12 µm. single nucleus characterized by a notably large, irregularly shaped karyosome resembling a blot. Nucleus doesn't have chromatin at its periphery. Cytoplasm appears granular.
