Faulkner County is a county located in the Central Arkansas region of the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 123,498, making it the fifth most populous of Arkansas's 75 counties. [1] The county seat and largest city is Conway. [2]

Sparsely populated in its early years, it had become the fifth-most-populous county in the state by 2020. Faulkner County is home to the University of Central Arkansas (UCA), Hendrix College, and Central Baptist College.
Faulkner County, formed April 12, 1873, was the sixty-ninth county created in Arkansas. The county is located almost exactly in the geographical center of the state of Arkansas, and was created from portions of Conway and Pulaski counties.

Faulkner County, Arkansas has 647.2 square miles of land area and is the 38th largest county in Arkansas by total area.
The colony, set on a little over 400 donated acres in Conway (Faulkner County), provided a school and a home away from home for as many as 1,000 developmentally disabled, school age children. Governor Orval Faubus lobbied strongly for funds to build a facility to serve the state’s mentally challenged children.
