In 1883, the Apache Indians lead by Geronimo reluctantly surrender to the attacks of American and Mexican troops, in exchange for a territory and food for their warriors. Soon though, Geronimo escapes the camps and declares war against the Americans.
Blond, all-American Chuck Connors, best known for his title role in the TV Western series The Rifleman, is cast wildly against type in Geronimo (1962), the most legendary of the Apache leaders. To avoid the starvation or massacre of his people, Geronimo surrenders and agrees to live out his life on a reservation.
