Our most immersive wine and food experience begins with a tour of the winery and adjacent cave followed by a seated tasting in a communal setting. The experience includes a selection of library and current release wines alongside pairings of small gourmet courses prepared by Chef Thomas Mendel.

The Hamel winegrowing philosophy starts with a deep understanding of our volcanic mountain soil and extends to every decision we make to meaningfully connect our wines to the resonance of the terroir.
These vineyards are situated on the location of the winery and Estate House at the western base of the Mayacamas Mountains, on the lower slopes adjacent to Whitman Canyon with elevations ranging up to 440 feet. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Grenache are planted across undulating slopes.
In every aspect of the winegrowing and winemaking, our priority is to preserve the connection between wine and terroir. Through dry farming, organic and biodynamic practices and intensive terroir research, our vineyard and winemaking teams work to express the character of our sites in all its energy, complexity, and purity.
An expression of our estate vineyards, Isthmus bridges the different volcanic terroirs found within our vineyards up and down the western slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains. This classically-styled Cabernet Sauvignon blend balances youthful accessibility and potential for graceful aging.
