With Honda EV Plus as the starting point, Honda continued research and development of hybrid vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles. By incorporating technologies and new ideas amassed through the development of such models, Honda developed the Fit EV, a fun-to-drive and smart-to-use EV, which began lease sales in 2012 in Japan and the U.S.
