What is IMAP? The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is a protocol for receiving email. A key feature of IMAP is that it allows users to access their emails from any device.
IMAP is one of three commonly used email protocols. The other two are SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) and POP. Between the two devices is the mail server. The email protocol determines how the server stores and deletes messages. It also has a direct impact on the user’s email experience.
