The TR-6 appeared in 1969 with generally enthusiastic reviews, as the old TR magic was still to be found in the right settings. Since US bound TR-6s had a desmogged engine with only 104 hp to the British market’s 150 hp, acceleration in that era of Detroit muscle cars was hardly breathtaking.
Chris sandblasted the entire frame and sprayed on a coat of POR-15 black. The frame is almost back together. The suspension is on but Chris is still working on bending all new brake and fuel lines to run inside the frame.
Chris purchased this TR6 when he was 16 years old from the original owner. We drove it the first summer but it has been off the road now for over 6 years. The body is in pretty good condition but the frame has rusted through in several places. The body is hanging in the barn waiting for someone to repair the frame.
He purchased the bike new from John Healy of Triumph of Wellesley. The odometer shows 10,016 miles. Maintenance: The seller notes that he replaced the fluids, carbs, shocks, and tires in 2022. The Triumph TR6 is a sports car that was built by the Triumph Motor Company of England. While production began several months earlier, the TR6 was officially introduced in January as a 1969 model year vehicle. The last TR6 was produced on the 20th of July 1976.
