Kudremukha is the name of a mountain range and an individual mountain peak located in Chikmagalur district, in Karnataka, India. It is also the name of a small hill station and iron ore-mining town situated near the mountain, about 20 kilometres from Kalasa in Kalasa Taluk.
Kudremukh trek needs permission as it is a part of Kudremukh National Park in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka. The entry fee is Rs 600 per person. In 2023, the carrying capacity for the trek has been increased to 300 per day.
Kudremukh is nestled in the heart of the western ghats in Chikkamagaluru district.It is situated at an altitude of 6,207 ft and is the 3rd highest peak of Karnataka after Mullayyangiri and Baba Budangiri. It has beautiful trek across the rolling green hills and misty valleys.
At 1892 meters, Kuduremukh is the second highest peak in Karnataka (after Mullayyanagiri). Kuduremukh is declared one of 34 biological hotspots of the world because of its tropical biological richness. It is one of the best places to visit in Karnataka.
