Higgins was born on December 9, 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa, one of five children (including brothers Steve and Alan) of Marian Higgins (née Coppola; 1932–2011) [1] and Harold Higgins (1934-1979), the latter of whom was a janitor at West Des Moines schools who was also a broadcaster who did high school plays. [2]
Higgins was born on August 13, 1963, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Marian (née Coppola) and Harold Higgins, who managed the custodial operations in West Des Moines schools. [2] He was one of five children, including his brothers David and Alan.
