Miroirs (French for "Mirrors") is a five-movement suite for solo piano written by French composer Maurice Ravel between 1904 and 1905. First performed by Ricardo Viñes in 1906, Miroirs contains five movements, each dedicated to a fellow member of the French avant-garde artist group Les Apaches .

Aug 11, 2021 · The line between reality and reflection blurs in Ravel’s five-movement suite for solo piano, Miroirs (“Reflections”), written between 1904 and 1905. It’s music which inhabits a hazy, ephemeral dreamscape filled with color.
Each of these Impressionistic sound reflections is dedicated to one of Ravel’s friends, members of a literary and artistic circle known as Les Apaches. The symbolist poet Léon-Paul Fargue was the dedicatee of “Noctuelles,” a fleet, flickering depiction of the night flight of moths.
