Feb 3, 1995 · Just to make clear he knows exactly what he's doing, Frankel stars Mia Farrow, Allen's former muse, in a key role. And he opens the picture with a close-up of another character delivering a monologue to her psychiatrist. This is Woodyland, all right, and my guess is that if this were a Woody Allen film, it would be reviewed as a pretty good one.

The serious comedies of Woody Allen have inspired a number of entertaining homages, but none that matches "Miami Rhapsody" in thoughtfulness and emotional realism.
From the style and music of the opening credits right through to the to-camera conclusion that mirrors the `need the eggs', this film is like a tropical version of Annie Hall with a female playing the Woody Allen role!
