William Joseph Patrick O'Brien (Irish: Pádraig Ó Briain; November 11, 1899 – October 15, 1983) was an American film actor with more than 100 screen credits. Of Irish descent, he often played Irish and Irish-American characters and was referred to as "Hollywood's Irishman in Residence" in the press.
Pat O'Brien is perhaps best known for his sixteen-year association with CBS Sports, which he joined in 1981. While at CBS, O'Brien covered the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA draft, NBA Finals, Winter Olympic Games, the NCAA men's basketball tournament, NCAA Football Championship and the Final Four.
